What is Soft Tissue Therapy?
Soft Tissue Therapy is the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of soft tissues of the body i.e. muscles, connective tissue/fascia, tendons, ligaments and joints. It is applicable not just to sports people but to anybody wishing to guard against or recover from a soft tissue injury. STT helps alleviate the soft tissue discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions.
Your body is made up of 70% soft tissue. We specialise in injuries whether they are the result of everyday activities or from competing. Clinical reasoning and excellent palpation skills allow us to hone in on the problem area and have you well on the way to recovery in your first session. If you haven’t tried deep tissue massage or had soft tissue therapy, then have this treatment, it’s highly likely to solve your problem.
Soft Tissue Therapy perhaps more importantly, is to not just give short term pain relief, but also to identify the underlying causes of pain and/or injury and treat them to re-balance the body. As a result, clients can benefit from long-term improvements in movement, function and efficiency of the body.
If appropriate, you will be given a programme of exercises and stretches to follow at home. This is an essential part of the treatment process that is followed up in your next session, adjusting the exercises if necessary.
